On a dense street the facade must work at close range. Geometric tilework, arabesque motifs and calligraphy are held within a clean white frame so ornament reads as detail, not decoration.
The minaret is the one vertical claim on the skyline. Inside, prayer halls are kept quiet: green carpet, warm chandeliers, tall windows and a recessed, backlit mihrab.
